The city of New York is applying new rules to the pedicab industry. This is a part of the pedicab campaign the City has launched against the drivers that are breaking the law and ruining the pedicabers reputation.
The owner of Central Park Bikes New York Inc. Antoan Nurikyan is giving an interview specially for the New York Post:
“I’m always seeing in the newspaper bad stories about the pedicabs,” said Antoan Nurikyan, a 36-year-old driver from Midwood, Brooklyn, who already has a stopwatch and official receipts issued by the city.
...
"It’s bad for our reputation. I’m for the law because, otherwise, you can’t stop these guys,” added Nurikyan, whose rickshaw once made a cameo on Conan O’Brien’s TBS show.
...
“They have checkpoints [in Central Park],” said Nurikyan. “You have to have the meters, receipts, everything.”
